This will probably provoke a reaction from some of you

The University of Liverpool have made it official…

Female jockeys are just as good as men.

Their 14-year study found that when the quality of horse was factored in, there was little disparity between the performances of male and female riders.

I know that will probably provoke a reaction from some of you.

(I know of one punter that will refuse to back a horse ridden by a female. Which is completely ridiculous to me).

It got me thinking of the importance of jockeys overall.

Are they important as some pundits claim?

Renowned American owner C.V. Whitney famously said…

“A good jockey can perform a like miracle. He is as important to his horse as a conductor to an orchestra, because a horse race is a symphony in motion.”

Other’s don’t put much stock in jockey’s at all.

What’s your view?

I think studying jockeys can be very profitable.

Especially when you factor in trainers and course form as well.

Some trainers just have a knack at certain courses and this can be a very profitable angle if followed diligently.

The easy way to do this is by using GeeGeez Gold’s trainer stats tool.

It’s shows you a jockey’s 1 year and 5 year course form. So you can instantly see which course a jockey has taken a liking to.

It also shows you win P/L, EW P/L, A/E and Impact Value so you can see which jockeys are beating the market time and again at a specific course.

It’s all there in one very user friendly table.

(Plus there’s a helpful user guide which shows you exactly what the data means and how to interpret it.)

When followed correctly it can be a very profitable angle.

If this sounds like something you’d like to try out in your betting then check out GeeGeez Gold here.

It will cost you just £1 to give it a go.
