By on January 9, 2020

One of the more interesting races today is the North Yorkshire Grand National at Catterick.

If Sue Smith has any runners they are worth keeping an eye on.

She has won the race 4 times since 2013.

Her stats since then (courtesy of The Daily Punt)…

8 runners | 4 winners | 50% s/r | 19.75 points profit.

Talking of Sue Smith…

It’s probably worth me reminding you of the stats I shared last week regarding her excellent record in January and February.

Since 2014:

All Runners:

360 bets | 82 wins | 23% s/r | +216 BFSP.

Handicap vs Non Handicap:

-Non handicaps: 95 bets | 17 wins | 18% s/r | +33 BFSP.

-Handicaps: 265 bets | 65 wins | 25% s/r | +185 BFSP.

From now on, a focus on Sue Smith’s Handicap runners…

Age:

5 or 6: 49 bets | 19 wins | 39% s/r |+55 BFSP.

Class Move:

Dropped in Class from LTO: 66 bets | 21 wins | 32% s/r | +118 BFSP.

Bottom Weights (including joint bottom weights):

35 bets | 11 wins | 31% s/r | +32 BFSP.

Number of Runners:

7 or fewer: 95 bets | 33 wins | 35% s/r | +77 BFSP.

Jockey:

Danny Cook: 120 bets | 35 wins | 29% s/r | +128 BFSP.

A lot of stats to get your teeth into there.

Probably best to use them as a quick “way-in” rather than backing everything blind. But they should help point you in the direction of a winner or two over the next couple of months.
