Some trends for the Gold Cup today…

By on April 15, 2017

First off, I hope you are having a great Easter weekend.

The Fairyhouse Easter Festival starts today and the big race is the Ryanair Gold Cup.

The red hot favourite is of course Yorkhill, who puts his unbeaten record in chases on the line.

There are some good trends for this race.

Here are the main ones going back 10 years…

10 of 10 winners had won 1 to 5 times over fences.

10 of 10 winners had won over 2M 4F or further.

10 of 10 winners finished in the first 3 last time out.

10 of 10 winners had first start in a pt to pt, bumper or hurdles race.

9 of 10 winners won on 1 or both of last 2 completed starts.

9 of 10 winners posted an RPR of 138+ last time (last 6 winners posted an RPR of 150+ last time).

9 of 10 winners had their last run in the past 60 days.

9 of 10 winners were aged 7 to 9.

9 of 10 winners had won a NH race worth 13K+.

8 of 10 winners have been Irish bred.

8 of 10 winners finished in the first 3 on chase debut.

8 of 10 posted an RPR of 129+ on first chase start.

Unsurprisingly Yorkhill looks a very good trends fit.

The only two negatives are…

Record of horses that ran at Cheltenham: 57PF432164FUF6342 (1-3-18)

The horse has a tendency to jump left and his worst runs (and only defeat) have come at right handed tracks.

It would take a brave person to bet against him but there is a chink in his armour.

If you’d like to join Steady Steveo and turn £2 bets into over £5,000 profit this year then check out his offer here.

Just a quick reminder that his £1 special offer ends tomorrow.

So if you’re on the fence make sure you get in quick.

You can read all about his betting record over the past couple of years here.

Enjoy your Sunday,
